Deputies Converge on Neverland Ranch After ‘Suspicious’ Call

Deputies launched an intensive search of Neverland Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley Tuesday afternoon after receiving a "suspicious" call reporting a crime had been committed there, but eventually determined the report was a hoax, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.

The call came in to the department's non-emergency line at about 3:45 p.m., said Kelly Hoover, a sheriff's spokeswoman.

Hoover would say only that the call was "suspicious" and the caller indicated a crime had been committed.

However, there were reports that the caller claimed to have killed people and had taken hostages.

Hoover said deputies searched the various buildings at Neverland, which was made famous by the late pop star Michael Jackson and is still owned primarily by his estate.

A large contingent of emergency personnel, including a county helicopter, converged on the 3,000-acre ranch in the 5200 block of Figueroa Mountain Road outside of Los Olivos.

At about 8:20 p.m., Hoover said investigators had determined no crime had been committed.

"After three hours of searching the property, which expands several thousand acres and includes several structures, the call was determined to be unfounded," Hoover told Noozhawk. "There was no evidence of a crime or anything suspicious in nature."

Neverland Ranch is the former home of pop star Michael Jackson.

"There was no evidence of a crime or anything suspicious in nature," said Kelly Hoover, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

Authorities responded to the Santa Ynez Valley property after someone called the sheriff’s non-emergency line and reported a crime.

Hoover would not comment on what crime was reported or any other specifics of the call.

Michael Jackson's ghost is scaring off buyers for his Neverland ranch

Viewers have been spooked by the King of Pop’s ghoul – which is said to moonwalk the corridors of the luxury pile in Los Olivos, California.

And if the £66million price tag is not enough to scare off homeseekers, the spooky spectre may be.

An estate agent source said:“Local people say Jackson’s spirit has been haunting his estate since he died.

“Investors and visitors considering buying the property are warned that workers on the ranch have claimed the King of Pop haunts the premises.”

Neighbour Marie Andrade, who regularly goes to the house, added: “Michael is there, his presence, his move and his breath.

Kim Kardashian to move to Neverland? Kanye West wants to buy Michael Jackson's home as a GIFT for his wife

Apparently the rapper is 'desperate' to own the sprawling estate but wants £10 million knocking off the asking price.
Kim Kardashian could be moving to Neverland if Kanye West has anything to do with it.

The rapper wants to buy Michael Jackson's famous home as a gift for his wife.

But the singer is asking for a deal - £10 million off the asking price of £65 million.

According to the Daily Star Kanye has been interested in buying the Neverland Ranch for a while but it was not on sale.

The source said: "Kanye is desperate to own the Neverland but he's not prepared to pay the price they want."

Apparently the 37-year-old has visited the 2,400-acre estate a few times over the years and has fallen in love with it.

The couple only just moved into their $20 million home in the Hidden Hills, California earlier this year after months of waiting for the renovations to be completed.

It was well documented on Keeping Up With the Kardashians that the pair completely rebuilt their home and moved in with Kim's mum Kris Jenner while they waited.

Surely they're not looking to move already?

Kim and Kanye already have a home in New York so perhaps they're just looking to expand their portfolio by buying the sprawling property.

MirrorCelebs have contacted reps for the couple.

Michael Jackson’s Balloon Samba Carnival Ride Will Be At The Nevada County Fair

The Nevada County Fair, which opens on Wednesday, will feature a ride purchased from Michael Jackson’s infamous Neverland Ranch amusement park. The ride, Balloon Samba, was previously owned by Michael Jackson, operated at the Neverland Ranch and was purchased in the fall of 2008 by California-based carnival company, Butler Amusements.

The ride is designed to look like a hot-air balloon and features hot air balloon carriages. The Balloon Samba seats 32 children in six air balloons. The ride will be part of the carnival area during Nevada County’s five-day Fair.

Butler Amusements purchased the ride, along with five others from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, last September. One ride is currently travelling with the Butler Amusements Oregon/ Washington carnival unit, one is operating at Coney Island, one is at the Stanislaus County Fair and the others are being refurbished at Butler’s winter quarters in Santa Nella, CA.

Balloon Samba will be open to the public at the Nevada County Fair beginning on Wednesday. This year’s Fair runs August 12 – 16.

Rob Swinson: “Michael wanted to be remembered as a person. Not as a personality!”

Neverland appeals to the child inside of every man, woman, and child. It’s a place where I feel that you can return to your childhood.[…] I love it, and I will always love it, and I will never ever sell Neverland. Neverland is me. It represents the totality of who I am. I love Neverland. ~ Michael Jackson

On February 28, 1988, after months of negotiating, the agreement for the sale and purchase of the ranch of Michael’s dreams was signed. The “Sycamore Valley Ranch” was about to become “Neverland Valley Ranch”. With an asking price of $35 million, the 2,700-acre ranch was the most expensive ranch for sale in the entire United States at that time. Yet, it was grossly overpriced, so worth some tough negotiating. The fact that Japanese investors were also interested in buying the ranch placed additional pressure on the negotiations. Finally, in December 1987, the offer of $17 million proved to be successful and led to the signing of the agreement a few months later. The sale would soon become known as ‘the sale of the century’.

Gloria Rhoads Berlin was the realtor who helped Michael become the owner of the ranch, his ‘Neverland Dream’. She wrote a book about it called, In Search Of Neverland. The realtor remembers Michael as the only celebrity client that really knew exactly what he wanted. He knew where he wanted it, when he wanted it and how he wanted it! The ranch of Michael’s dreams had to be over 200 acres and it had to provide him privacy. He wanted his future home to be a great place to farm and to raise animals. Also, Michael preferred the idea of being close to a forest. He was adamant that there should be deer around!
Adding to Michael’s wishes has of course been the fact that, ever since the age of 17, Neverland Valley Ranch had been a vision forming in his mind as part of his dream of doing something that would benefit the children of the world. Michael wanted to build a sanctuary for children in need, especially the underprivileged, handicapped or terminally ill, as well as for animals (of which he already had quite a few living at his Encino home) and for himself. And if Michael had a dream, as we all know, he would not stop chasing it until he had succeeded in making it come true!

Michael had shared with his realtor that he remembered filming a video with Paul McCartney on a ranch that had a wonderful English Tudor main house. Somehow, the video filming process did not go well, and since Paul McCartney’s team had not obtained the owner’s permission in advance, they got thrown off the property. Michael definitely wanted a ranch like the one he remembered from that occasion.

When Gloria Rhoads Berlin started her national search for ranches that measured up to Michael’s wishes she found only three ranches to be acceptable. One of them was the “Sycamore Valley Ranch” near Los Olivos in California, which later turned out to be the very same ranch that Michael remembered from filming the video with Paul McCartney! Located in a landscape of gently rolling hills in the Santa Ynez Valley, the property had an abundance of sycamore trees besides about 50,000 oaks. It extended into the San Rafael Mountains. The main house (of English Tudor design) had two enormous man-made lakes in front of it. The entrance to the house was over a long bridge that was like a replica of the famous London Bridge.

The air photo above shows “Sycamore Valley Ranch”, as presented in a pre-1988 brochure. The house had thirty rooms, including seven bedrooms, each with its own master bath. In the rooms, no two ceilings were alike, and no two floors were similar. Every room was nothing less than an extremely beautiful work of art. Amongst many pieces of great art that had been imported from around the world was a ‘Bösendorfer grand piano’ from Vienna, which, as the realtor remembers, Michael couldn’t wait to try out when viewing the house for the first time. He immediately sat down and started playing and singing I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.

In May 1988, while in the middle of his Bad World Tour, Michael moved from the family’s Encino home, Hayvenhurst, to his recently purchased ranch, which he called his ‘heaven on earth’. The name “Neverland”, as we know, was derived from Michael’s favorite story about Peter Pan. The place is known as the fantasy island of Peter Pan, who refused to grow up. As we heard Michael say more than once, he felt Peter Pan in his heart. Michael was looking for ways to compensate for the childhood he never had, and Peter Pan represented everything to him that children, wonderment and magic are all about.

Rob Swinson of Wichita, Kansas, became Michael’s personal amusement ride consultant and park developer. He is the author of the book Maker of Dreams – Creating Michael Jackson’s ‘Neverland Valley Park’. Rather than just a book, Rob Swinson prefers to call it his ‘personal memoir’. After having read his beautiful work I exchanged many e-mails with him and also spoke with him several times, using Skype. I came to realize that this man, who seems to know nearly everything about the development of Neverland, simply because he was there on many occasions and has documented all his experiences, rightfully calls himself ‘Neverland Valley HIStorian’.

It was in the early fall of 1990 that a group of talented artists, builders, craftsmen, electricians, gardeners, animal handlers, and creative people from all walks of life started on building Michael’s ‘Neverland Dream’. Rob Swinson is most grateful to have been part of this special group of people. He has priceless memories of working close together with Michael and Norma Staikos, who was Michael’s longtime administrative assistent at MJJ Productions at that time. He likes to think of Norma Staikos, Oliver ‘Brick’ Price, Brad Sundberg, David Nordahl, and himself as Michael’s “Dream Team”.

Back then, Rob Swinson was National Sales Manager for a company called “Chance Rides Inc.”, which was one of the world’s leading and most renowned amusement ride manufacturers. He specialized in the development of new amusement ride projects, especially carrousels and one-third-scale C.P. Huntington miniature trains. It all started with a phone call from Michael’s good friend, Oliver ‘Brick’ Price, requesting information on carrousels, including brochures, animal selection posters, and a carrousel video.

Brick Price had known Michael ever since he had worked on Captain EO with him, and was doing design projects for themed attractions, museums, and theme parks. Michael talked to him about the elements he wanted for his amusement park, one of them being a beautiful carrousel. What followed was the above mentioned phone call to ask for the information that would be helpful for Michael. Brick Price remembers how Michael was very good at visualizing what he wanted. Michael could see things as clearly as if they had already been finished. Brick Price also designed and carved the signs that were placed on the grounds of Neverland. Originally made from wood, they were replaced by fiberglass replicas, as Michael wanted them to be more durable against the harsh weather.

During his first visit to the ranch, while meeting with Norma Staikos, Rob Swinson was able to view the area where the amusement park was going to be built. He describes the area at that time as a large, grassy area, surrounded by a ring of magnificent ancient California oak trees. Yet, with the first plans for the amusement park ready to be executed, the view of the grassy area was about to change rapidly to bare dirt.
Rod Sumi had worked at Neverland Valley Ranch from 1988 until 1992. He started as a security guard, then became a firefighter and, finally, he became the first amusement manager of the park. In that position he was in charge of maintaining and safely running the amusement park rides. In August 2014, during a beautiful conversation on Blogtalkradio with his good friend Rob Swinson, Rod Sumi reminisced about the day that Michael and he were riding a golf cart out to the empty lot where the ground squirrels were digging holes in the area where the big oaks were. Michael told him that day, Rod, one day there is going to be a beautiful park here and we are going to have heads of states and children who are going to enjoy it. Children with muscular dystrophy and the Make a Wish Foundation are going to be welcome here.

Soon after the necessary groundwork for the eventual construction of the amusement park had started, a clueless and news hungry tabloid published an aerial photo of Michael’s ranch and attached the story that Michael was in the process of building a golf course. Already at that time, helicopters would fly over the place to find out what Michael Jackson was doing and to snap photos!

The building of the amusement park started with the 50-foot carrousel and the miniature train, followed soon after by the other rides which included The Ferris Wheel, The Zipper, The Sea Dragon, The Wipeout, The Giant Slide, Bumper Cars, The Spider, children’s rides, and more. By the mid-1990s it included over 18 rides. The park also expanded to include other features, like swan-themed paddle boats on a small lake adjacent to Michael’s home, an Indian campground with carpeted teepees and music speakers, a water balloon fort, an animal zoo, as well as a petting zoo, a reptile garden inside an old horse barn, and of course, the amusement arcade and the famous luxurious movie theatre.

Michael knew how to add the magic to his amusement park! In addition to the well-lit rides, many of the huge oak trees that could be found all through the valley of the ranch were filled with thousands of twinkling white lights. Also, there were potted plants molded into lighted animal forms, such as an elephant holding an umbrella in the rain and a caterpillar on top of a mushroom. Throughout the park, the most beautiful bronze statues, as well as colorful flower beds which incorporated unique features (all of them completely having been replanted three times each year) could be found. Disney music could be heard from nearly every part of the valley. Michael did not forget to add candy and ice-cream carts for the kids!

ImageImageImage

Rob Swinson, just like Gloria Rhoads Berlin, clearly remembers how Michael knew exactly what he wanted. Every detail you saw at Neverland was there because Michael personally wanted it to be there. The project of building Michael’s dream, that had started on bare dirt soon turned out to be the development of a world class amusement park. Michael literally was Neverland’s soul.

Rob Swinson also shares that he never had a client so genuinely grateful as Michael. Every time a new amusement ride arrived Michael was as excited as a child having a surprise birthday party. He once wrote Rob a personal note which said, To Rob, The Maker of Dreams. Love Thanks Michael Jackson. Very dear to Rob’s heart are his memories of the delivery and installation of the carrousel and the miniature train that were both completely customized for Michael.

Michael had initially ordered a 36-foot Classical Carrousel with two chariots, one of them being handicapped accessible, and 30 jumping animals riding on shiny, polished brass poles. Unfortunately, a problem seemed to arise during the selection of the thirty individual horses and menagerie animals. With Michael basically wanting everything, Rob Swinson came to realize that his desires were much larger than the carrousel could accommodate! When pointed out to him that also a much larger 50-foot Grand Carrousel, with space for 60 jumping animals, could be built, Michael immediately changed his mind and ordered the larger carrousel. The ride was erected and assembled on an elevated pad site with special access for the handicapped visitors. It was Brad Sundberg, whose name is known by many, because of his working in the studio with Michael, who took care of the installation of the music system in the carrousel. Brad Sundberg took care of providing the music and sound systems, not only for the rides, but also throughout the grounds of Neverland.

ImageImageImage

What was kept as a surprise for Michael was the fact that each of the 60 carrousel animals was going to be customized in a beautiful way. It was Norma Staikos, Michael’s longtime administrative assistant, who shared the ideas for what she thought Michael would love. Every animal on the carrousel was hand-decorated and hand-painted, being a unique piece of art. Michael’s carrousel was a one of a kind in the entire world!

ImageImageImageImage

The C.P. Huntington train was also completely customized to Michael’s wishes. The locomotive had both the logos for his Neverland Valley Ranch incorporated into it and each coach seat was adorned with the “Blue Boy in the Moon” logo. Brad Sundberg was asked to put strings of small lights around the coach tops, and to build and install a custom sound system for it. Michael also added blue cushioned covers to all the coach seats. In his book Rob Swinson recalls, The music (always classical per Michael) played from front to back, and at night the train looked like a 150-foot Christmas tree on tracks, glistening with lights and beautiful music drifting into the evening air! I had seen, built, ridden, sold and installed a lot of miniature trains in my life, but this one was fantastic. It looked like it jumped right out of a child’s storybook!

With power needing to be provided to the ride area the decision was made to install a large, yet silent running generator. The unit was placed directly underneath one of the beautiful large oak trees. For the purpose of hiding this power unit from view, a beautiful “fantasy treehouse”, was constructed. The inspiration for that absolutely amazing treehouse was the nineteenth century “Neuschwanstein Castle” in Germany. Once completed, it included copper turrets and had two upper floors of carpeted rooms. The little building was also outlined with miniature white lights. Inside the little castle, everything was scaled down for children.

The Zipper was wild and therefore it was Michael’s absolutely favorite ride by far! He just loved to get the cars spinning round and round, and he claimed to hold the World’s Record for riding The Zipper non-stop, doing so during an amazing 35 minutes straight! Rod Sumi witnessed him set this claimed world record as his ride operator at the spot! Michael’s favorite ride with the children was The Sea Dragon, because they could ride it together. Michael would put his hands up in the air with all the kids as it was coming down and have everyone screaming while going back up.

Michael had taken great care for every ride at Neverland to be modified in a way that guaranteed for children to be safe. In the above mentioned conversation on ‘Blogtalkradio’ Rod Sumi emphasized that no accidents ever happened at Neverland. He remembered how he had many heart-wrenching moments at the ranch when Michael invited children with muscular dystrophy who could go on several of the rides, like The Spider, because they were adjusted so that these children could ride them comfortably and safely. The train didn’t need special adjustments, because it was easily accessible, also for wheelchair bound children. Everything on the ranch was made accessible for wheelchairs.

Each staff member was trained every 6 months on how to handle special needs children on rides. Besides that, as Rod Sumi remembered from the time he had worked at the ranch, all the employees were offered the opportunity to get schooling if they wanted to increase their education. He and his son, Seth, who was also employed at the ranch at that time, took that opportunity to learn sign language. This enabled them to communicate with more of the children. Michael paid for all the books and gave them time off from work.

While building Neverland, in order to proceed, virtually at every step along the way permission from County zoning officials was needed. The obtaining of that permission turned out to be a continuous challenge. Officials, as well as some neighbors, were not quite amused about what Michael was having done inside his private 2,700-acre Neverland Valley Ranch, even though nothing was ever visible nor accessible to the public outside. Although permission was obtained for many of Michael’s plans, he was not allowed to install a very important ride as a focal point of the park, being a thrilling roller coaster.

As mentioned above, the amusement park had been expanded in order to include many other features that added to the fun, the adventure, and the magic. Michael had created a little Indian campground, with teepees and a bonfire. The teepees had carpeted floors, even equipped with underfloor heating, as well as speakers were installed inside. Sometimes, guests would have sleepovers there. Right behind “Teepee Village” was a water balloon fort, which of course could not fail in Michael’s world! Well-equipped with water cannons and water balloon launchers, it was the scene for countless water fights. Michael called a water balloon fight his favorite thing in the world to play, saying, I like the way they splatter when they hit. I’ve never lost a balloon fight. I’m the Michael Jordan of water balloon fight.

The approach to Michael’s beautiful movie theatre, like the theatre itself, was just amazing. The “Yellow Brick Road” was actually a stamped concrete walkway, designed to resemble cobblestones, connecting the park to the theatre, and would light up in the evenings, which can be seen in the very last photo from this article. Strings of tiny lights were placed in grooves in the walkway in order to give the effect Michael desired. In front of the theatre was one of the countless, beautiful bronze statues that could be found throughout the property. The photo below shows the view on leaving the theatre, with the “Yellow Brick Road” (decorated with red and rose flowers) straight ahead.

Inside the theatre was an enormous candy counter, with every type of candy one could possibly imagine. There was also a soft-ice-cream machine, a popcorn machine, and every kind of soft drink available. In addition, Michael had candy bars personalized with his image on the wrapper. The theatre had over fifty plush red chairs that were as big and as comfortable as living room recliners. They could lean back and you could rock in them!

In the back of the theatre, on either side of the projection room, were two large, glass windows, behind which adjustable hospital beds were placed. Michael had included them in the theatre’s design so that bedridden children could also enjoy a movie in a real theatre. Michael even had a deal worked out enabling him to play any newly released movie in his own movie theatre! Connected to the rear of the theatre was Michael’s private dance studio.

The Arcade was situated just behind Michael’s house. Literally every kind of video game could be played there. Also, it had pinball machines, a photo booth, and even a penny press machine. Again, an abundance of candy and ice-cream was available.

Michael kept anacondas, tarantulas, a cobra, rattlesnakes, piranhas, and crocodiles in the reptile house. In his animal zoo, he had orangutans, chimps, bears, lions, giraffes, elephants, zebra, camels, and flamingos. The chimps and orangutans were walking around fully-dressed in diapers, shirts, and overalls. The chimps drank juice straight out of juice boxes with straws and they loved to eat candy! They would hold up each piece of candy and fully examine it before eating it! Michael took great care of the animals and had several specialists looking after them.

From his stays at the ranch David Nordahl recalls how the elephants would be brought into the park in the mornings to take branches off the trees. Every morning many of the animals could be heard through the valley, free to roam the property for some time while the ground keepers were cleaning the messes.

David Nordahl was one of Michael’s personal artists and had created the most beautiful paintings for Michael’s private residence. He made numerous drawings and created fantasy artwork that brought the amusement park to life in vivid colors of amazing artwork. Michael discussed with him the park’s layout and appearance. When Michael, for example, had the idea of displaying poems that he had written along the “Yellow Brick Road”, it was David Nordahl who made the designs for it.

As can be seen earlier in this article on the posted photo of Michael with Rob Swinson, a copy of one of David Nordahl’s paintings, “Playmates for a Lonely Child” was displayed in front of one of Neverland’s huge oak trees at the entrance of the amusement park. Because of durability, the original painting could not be displayed. Instead, it was printed on plastic and illuminated from the back.

Neverland was a work in progress. Michael was a man of vision and whenever he had an idea, he didn’t hesitate to make it a reality. For the future, Michael had several beautiful dreams for the realization of which David Nordahl had already drawn the sketches. One of Michael’s dreams had been to build condos with glass walls that faced an enormous outdoor screen. Michael was aware that clinically ill children often have trouble sleeping, so when these children would be spending the night in those condos with their families and nurses, and they would wake up, there would always be cartoons playing on the screen to entertain them. David Nordahl had also made sketches for a future “Water Park” and a valley with tree houses for families.

In his book “Private Conversations in Neverland with Michael Jackson”, Dr. William Van Valin shares that Michael once showed him blueprints to what he called, “Neverland, The Theme Park”. Michael at that time had just received the blueprints for this magical theme park. The park would, for example, include the Tower of London, with cobblestone streets and shops for everything from tea to fish and chips. It would have an enormous Pirate Island (being three times the size of the Matterhorn in Disneyland) on which you could go to the mermaid cove, the Lost Boys’ tree house, the Indian camp, or the Pirates’ caves, and which would also have all the typical rides found at any kind of theme park on it. In ”Neverland, The Theme Park” roller coasters would be running throughout Pirate Island.

When asked where the park was going to be, Michael answered that he had not yet decided about it, but that there were a lot of places around the world that wanted to place it in their country. Michael knew for sure that he wanted it to be located in a place with a warmer climate, so that the park could be used all year round. Michael explained that he had been planning this theme park for years and that he had it all copyrighted to make sure that no one could steal it from him.

Rob Swinson was the only person ever allowed by Norma Staikos to take personal photos during the construction of Michael’s amusement park area for the explicit purpose of documenting Michael’s ‘Neverland Dream’. Many have shared the fact that it was absolutely forbidden to take photos at Neverland. Everyone was to sign a statement declaring that they would behave as a guest befitting and that they would not take any pictures while at the ranch. As such, all cameras and cell phones that could be used to take pictures had to be left at the gatehouse and could be picked back up on the way out. Michael had a well thought reason for this rule. He simply wanted everything his Neverland Valley Ranch had to offer to remain a total surprise for everyone, until they came to see it all with their own eyes. Michael was aware that, although Disneyland was beautiful and magical, all the kids had seen it on TV before they visited there.

Neverland was an amazingly beautiful, magical world unto itself, where children could be free and all adults could let go of their worries and be children again. Michael understood better than anyone how to tell a story and how to involve you. As a guest, once you had arrived at the gate, the world outside was no longer of importance. You would leave your car in the parking lot, be greeted by a uniformed ranch employee, who would escort you onto the magical miniature train, that would carry you into Michael’s world. Everything at the ranch was free!

On a regular basis, usually on Fridays, Michael invited busloads of children from the inner city area of Los Angeles. All the children, most of them very sick or coming from difficult backgrounds, were warmly welcomed to the ranch to spend a day there. Every child was special to Michael and if possible he would be there with them in person to share their experience. In Rob Swinson’s book, Brad Sundberg uses the following words to express his admiration and respect for Michael, He really did build that for the kids, the children of the world. There is just no way that all the children of the world could experience Neverland, but I will say, and this is something that I get very passionate about, I have seen it firsthand when Michael did have kids there, you know sick kids, Make a Wish kids. Neverland stood on its own two feet in terms of being an amazing place, but on top of that Michael gave his time and he would be out there giving the tour. He would be driving the golf cart and telling jokes with the kids. He would be in the middle of a water balloon fight. He would be on the rides, you know, telling the operator to go faster, faster! It is one thing to build something and then say “okay, everyone come enjoy it, I am too busy”, but it is another thing to roll up your sleeves and be out there in the midst of it and that’s really what I saw.

Unfortunately, although nothing is ever certain, recent developments pretty much indicate that Michael’s “Neverland Valley Ranch” might be lost forever. With never in the world’s history someone having been so completely dedicated to do something that would benefit the children of the world, most of all the underprivileged, handicapped and terminally ill, it is almost unacceptable to face the reality of this.

To his longtime friend Frank Cascio, Michael once revealed that his future view for Neverland, after his passing, was to become like Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Rob Swinson is pretty sure, though, that every effort or request submitted by any potential buyer having the intention to purchase Neverland in order to turn it into an attraction similar to Graceland will probably be blocked by the local county officials. They have never been very cooperative in the past and will do all that is in their power to prevent another ‘tourist attraction’ from becoming a reality.

As Michael’s true and loving fans, let us try to find comfort in the thought that, whatever the future of “Neverland Valley Ranch” will be, Michael DID succeed in building his longtime dream. Throughout many years, he brought incredible joy to the thousands and thousands of children, as well as adult guests, who were able to spend time at Neverland. Nothing can ever take away all the beautiful, heartwarming memories they have from their unforgettable time spent at Neverland.

Most importantly, Michael, as he so eagerly wanted, will be remembered by many primarily not as a personality, but as an extremely caring and very charitable person!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Rob Swinson, for your great enthusiasm, for your willingness to answer my questions, and for your willingness to provide most of the photos that accompany this article. I sincerely recommend everyone to purchase your beautiful book, which contains beautiful anecdotes along with many never before seen photos of the construction of Neverland, all taken from your personal collection. The book is available on http://www.makerofdreams.com as a Coffee Table or Hard Cover printed copy, and also as an eBook.

Janet Peterson, thank you so very much for creating an absolutely beautiful video, especially for this article.
